Talent Now utilises Employment Hero integration to better serve ECEC services
Leading early childhood staffing solution Talent Now has teamed up with renowned payroll and HR platform Employment Hero to reimagine casual staffing for early childhood education and care (ECEC) services.
Understanding Talent Now’s Services: Casual Connect vs. Casual Hire
Traditionally, casual educators sourced through recruitment agencies are employed by the agency where they work, but Casual Connect with Talent Now flips that model.
“Instead of being employed by the agency, educators are directly employed by the childcare centre where they work” explains Liddy Korner, Founder & CEO Talent Now. “This distinction provides many benefits. Firstly, it keeps casual staffing costs right down for ECEC services and with the new Worker Retention Payment Scheme, it enables centres to access high-quality casual educators while still benefiting from the government grant.”
For centres that want a complete casual staffing solution then Talent Now’s Casual Hire service is the way to go. ECEC services book the staff they need and are invoiced accordingly. Talent Now handles everything else.
Streamlining Payroll with Employment Hero
Talent Now simplifies the process of employing casuals by taking care of essential administrative tasks, including providing banking, superannuation, and tax information for each educator. Centres pay a flat booking fee starting at $30 per shift, regardless of the educator’s qualification level or the shift duration.
“While these features are great, one of the biggest challenges our customers share with us is the time and energy spent setting up new staff in the payroll platform and ensuring the detail is correct,” Ms Korner shared.
Currently being offered as a pilot program for services who adopt the Casual Connect model, the integration with Employment Hero will automate and streamline payroll processes saving time and reducing administrative burdens for centre managers.
With the integration, employment and payroll data will flow seamlessly between the Talent Now platform and Employment Hero, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in managing casual educators’ payments and entitlements.
For centres participating in the Worker Retention Payment Scheme, this means even greater ease in complying with wage reforms and ensuring timely payment of the Worker Retention Payment to eligible educators.
Casual Connect is not only a practical solution for centres navigating the new regulatory landscape but also a win for educators. By being employed directly by the centre, casual educators receive fair wages and access to the benefits of the Worker Retention Payment. This creates a more equitable and transparent system while fostering stronger connections between educators and the centres they work for.
“We’ve been described as ‘the Uber of childcare,” Ms Korner said, “because we are the first app-based casual staffing solution in Australia. I think that description is a great fit, because we’re always seeking ways to push the boundaries of what’s possible in casual staffing.”
“At the end of the day, in everything we do, we’re aiming to offer our customers the flexibility, affordability, and compliance they need in a rapidly changing landscape.”
If your centre is participating in the Worker Retention Scheme and you’re looking for a smarter way to manage casual staffing, Casual Connect could be the solution you’ve been waiting for.
