National Winners announced for 2024 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards
Family Day Care Australia (FDCA) has proudly announced the National Winners in the 2024 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards at its recent Gala Dinner, held 23 November at the Parkroyal Parramatta.
Three category winners were announced (Coordinator, Educator and Service) after more than 5,000 nominations were placed during the year.
The 2024 National Award Winners are:
National Educator of the Year – Roslyn Humbles, Wanslea Regional Family Day Care, WA
Ms Humbles, who has been a family day care educator for 25 years, became the first Western Australian educator to win the esteemed title.
National Coordinator of the Year – April Eaton, Kids At Home Family Day Care, QLD
After working in the family day care sector for more than 38 years, Ms Eaton has become the first person to have won both the Coordinator and Educator National titles, having claimed the Educator of the Year Award in 2019.
National Service of the Year – Northside Family Day Care Scheme, SA
Northside Family Day Care Scheme, which has been operating for over 40 years, became the first South Australian family day care service to win the prestigious award.
“Each of our National Winners has demonstrated excellence, passion and dedication that makes them all worthy winners of this year’s Awards,” Family Day Care Australia Chief Executive Officer Andrew Paterson said.
“The quality of early childhood professionals reflected in our National Finalists was amazing and our National Winners should be incredibly proud of their achievement.”
The Excellence in Family Day Care Awards, now in their 13th year, are the only national awards dedicated to recognising the outstanding work achieved in the Family Day Care sector.
The Awards promote the valuable contribution family day care educators, service staff and coordinators make to more than 74,000 children across the country each day.
“This year’s Awards continue to play a key role in recognising the achievements of those working in the family day care sector on a national level and provide an opportunity to promote the unique benefits of family day care to Australian families,” Mr Paterson added.
