ECEC professional in her 60s charged with historical child abuse offences

A 61 year old woman from Western Australia has been charged in relation to historical child abuse offences that occurred between 1994 and 1995 in the Yakamia area.
The offences are alleged to have occurred when the woman was aged in her 30s, and to have taken place while she was operating a Family Day Care (FDC) service based in her home.
Police will allege that the woman committed three sexually based offences against a male child in her care, who was aged between four and five years of age at the time.
The woman has been charged with one count of Indecent Dealing of a Child under 13 years; one count of Sexual Penetration of a Child under 13 years; and one count of Procured or Encouraged a Child to Engage in Sexual Behaviour.
The woman appeared before Albany Magistrates Court on Thursday, 30 May 2024. Sentencing remarks have not been made available to the public.
