Nest Child and Family Learning Centre due to open soon
The Nest is Tasmania’s newest Child and Family Learning Centre (CFLC), and it will soon welcome the first of its families when it opens on 1 May 2024.
One of six state-of-the-art centres that are being delivered across the State, The Nest is dedicated to providing more opportunities for Tasmania’s young ones and improving education and wellbeing outcomes.
Tasmania’s new Minister for Education Jo Palmer toured the new centre recently saying the “fantastic new spaces” will support families in the Sorell and Tasman Local Government Areas.
“Our CFLCs are much more than physical structures – they offer early learning and wellbeing services in the one place to support families with young children.
“Like all of our CFLCs, The Nest is community-driven with local community members actively involved in the exciting process of designing and shaping the centre.
The centre has been built next to Sorell Primary School to make the day-to-day school run easier for local families.
The final two new CFLCs in Kingborough and Glenorchy are currently under construction, nearing completion and will open to families in the coming months, taking the total number of CFLCs operating across Tasmania to 18.
