Trainer and assessor based in Victoria? 10 International VET Fellowships on offer

The Victorian Skills Authority (VSA), in partnership with the International Specialised Skills Institute (ISS Institute) is offering 10 International VET Practitioner Fellowships in 2024.

The fellowship program offers vocational education and training (VET) practitioners an opportunity to increase their skills by travelling overseas and undertaking applied research to learn, report and share their knowledge in their area of expertise. 

Overseas fellowship research may include (but is not limited to):

• meeting knowledgeable leaders, 
• conducting interviews, 
• observation, 
• immersion in workplaces, 
• undertaking specialised training, or 
• attending a specialist conference

The fellowships represent an extraordinary opportunity for those in the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector to create change and leave their mark on future professionals by sharing their newfound knowledge and enhanced skills.

Returning fellows become ambassadors of the VSA, the ISS Institute and their respective institutions. The fellowship program aims to build capacity and capability in VET applied research. It also supports quality and excellence in the VET sector through the development of innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

The fellowships are open to members of the Victorian VET sector who are employed within Victorian Government contracted registered training organisations (RTOs) including:

• TAFEs
• private RTOs
• Learn Local providers (ACFE Board registered).

Fellowships are also available to VSA Industry Advisory Group members and their executive officers.

Applicants for the fellowship program will focus in one of the following priority areas:

1. Developing quality training with deep and meaningful connections to emerging or ongoing industry needs.
2. Developing educational approaches that support inclusion and increase participation.
3. Developing education and training that supports the skills needed for a clean economy.
