Meeniyan Preschool says goodbye to Fay Sinclair
18 December was a ‘very teary day’ for children, families and educators all of whom gathered at Victoria’s Meeniyan Preschool to celebrate the early childhood career of Fay Sinclair, who retired after 23 years of teaching at the service.
Mrs Sinclair has had the privilege of teaching multiple generations and said she loves her job, the people she has worked with, and of course, watching the children grow and learn.
Commencing her early childhood education career in 1983 at Marg Fox at the kindergarten in Hassett Street, Leongatha, Mrs Sinclair joined Meeniyan Preschool as a staff member in 1999, after helping run the service as a member of the committee of management for the previous seven years.
During the celebration of her time with the Preschool pictures of Mrs Sinclair’s career were displayed, and at the conclusion of her speech she shared with the crowd that she knows “there is life after work and the community is my passion, so I look forward to holidays and catching up with my friends.”
“I wish the Meeniyan Preschool all the best for the future and I will certainly miss seeing the children, parents and staff.”
In farewelling Mrs Sinclair the committee of management thanked her for the dedication she has shown to her job over many years, for the cheerful warm welcomes she shared each day, her ‘amazingly creative’ activities, and her ‘get the job done’ mentality.
