Tweddle announces the appointment of new CEO, Liz Murdoch
Tweddle Child and Family Health Service has appointed Liz Murdoch as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Ms Murdoch has over 30 years of experience in the health sector, and brings a wealth of expertise and a steadfast commitment to Tweddle’s mission of promoting the health and wellbeing of babies, toddlers and families.
Her previous roles include overseeing the O’Connell Family Centre (Mercy Health – Early Parenting Centre) within her portfolio of responsibilities at Mercy Health, in addition to serving on the Board of Queen Elizabeth Centre.
She has also spent time in her early career working as a speech pathologist, something which adds a professional depth to her leadership and service delivery knowledge.
Together with her background in executive leadership in operations and quality, and more recently her Executive roles at the Victorian Department of Health, Ms Murdoch is uniquely positioned to guide Tweddle through a period of growth and beyond.
Tweddle Board Chair Annette Vickery expressed her enthusiasm about Liz’s appointment, saying her extensive experience, deep sectoral knowledge, and passion for clinical practice excellence make her the ideal leader to guide Tweddle through this exciting phase of new growth.
In response Ms Murdoch said she was honoured and excited to join Tweddle and contribute to its mission of supporting babies, toddlers and families.
“My background in health, coupled with a commitment to partnerships in care, aligns beautifully with Tweddle’s values at a time when supporting families with young children to create strong communities has never been more vital, and at a time also that the sector is in a growth phase,” she said.
“I look forward to leading the organisation into the future, ensuring excellent care for every family.”
Ms Murdoch will commence her role on 15 January 2024, and replaces interim CEO Umit Agis.
