ECEC Provider in Focus: Enhance Family Day Care
Enhance Family Day Care is a family day care (FDC) and in-home care (IHC) provider which has more than 200 educators and carers in its network across Queensland.
What is the Enhance FDC vision and approach to learning?
There are three core values, with three touch points under each, which guide the work of Enhance FDC and the educators who work across the network. They are:
Children and families are our heart
- We listen and respond
- We speak up and protect
- We are responsible and accountable
We play well with others
- We share ideas, challenges and successes
- We are relationship-oriented and task focused
- We do what we say we will do
We colour outside the lines
- We are change creators, makers and champions
- We seek solutions powered by curiosity and creativity
- Our success lies in the extra mile
Educators guide the educational learning programs within their service based on their personal philosophy, the Enhance philosophy, the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Framework for School Aged Care in Australia (MTOP).
What is the Enhance FDC approach to educator’s professional development?
Educators have an Enhance Practice Mentor visits regularly to support educators in their role, offering guidance and being available to answer questions. Educators also have access to administration staff who can assist you when required.
Educators are also encouraged to access professional development opportunities, to connect with other local educators and to participate in child-focused community events.
Are there any unique aspects to the Enhance FDC offer?
Educators who commence with Enhance are given support to fill available spots in their FDC service, and have access to free on demand training, which they can complete at their own pace.
There are no set up fees for the service, and there is access to ongoing administrative support.
