KU Children's Services (KU) is a leading not for profit provider of nearly 140 early childhood education and care services in NSW, VIC, the ACT and QLD. Established in 1895, KU is one of Australia’s most experienced and respected providers of long day care, preschool, outside school hours care, family programs and early intervention services.

The Program

KU Children’s Services receives Australian Government funding to operate a state-wide Inclusion Agency in QLD in partnership with Cairns and District Child Care Development Association Inc. as part of the Inclusion Support Program (ISP). The ISP ‘supports mainstream ECCC services to improve their capacity and capability to provide quality inclusive practices, address participation barriers and include children with additional needs alongside their typically developing peers’.

We are currently recruiting for a motivated early childhood teacher with a passion for inclusion and diversity.

The Role

The role of the Inclusion Hub Manager is to lead Inclusion Professionals in their work to support educators in federally funded ECEC services to increase their capacity and capability to embed inclusive practices within their service. The Inclusion Hub Manager will support and manage the implementation of the Inclusion Support Program Guidelines, Inclusion Support QLD Work Plan, and KU Inclusion Agency Practice Framework to ensure that support to services is designed to increase the capacity and capability of educators and builds on educator and service strengths. The manager will also contribute to collaborative planning with the Inclusion Support QLD Leadership Team.

This position is for the Brisbane North Hub Manager and includes managing the Specialist Equipment Library (SEL) which supports eligible ECEC services to borrow specialist equipment that facilitates and supports children’s inclusion.

This a full-time position working 8 hours per day, Monday-Friday and you will accrue a monthly rostered day off. On offer is a fixed term contract to the end of June 2025 due to current funding and will be based in our Brisbane North Geebung office.

What we’re looking for?

The successful applicant will meet the following criteria:

• A degree in Early Childhood qualification or equivalent with at least 5 years’ experience
• Understanding of the differences between inclusion, integration, micro-exclusion and macro-exclusion
• Capacity to share inclusive strategies and solve inclusion barriers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills within your current team or through other recent employment
• Sound understanding of adult education principles and experience in facilitating change
• Ability to facilitate change through reflective practice and a strengths-based approach
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with using standard computer software, such as Microsoft Office and online databases
• Current driver’s licence and use of a comprehensively insured, registered motor vehicle
