Children’s wellbeing and creativity with digital technologies
Children are increasingly engaging in digital play, using mobile apps and connecting with others in online ways. There are many positive opportunities for children to play and learn with digital technologies but there are still challenges. Educators and families are exploring ways to mitigate potential risks of digital technologies such as surveillance and, infringements of children’s privacy through digital activities that foster the development of foundation skills and capabilities needed to connect, create and maintain well-being in mixed offline and online experiences.
In this presentation, you will hear about current research and practice that is informing the foundational principles to children’s digital well-being (accessibility, sociability and safety) and importantly how children’s well-being is intertwined with their creativity in using digital technologies.
