Living facade to be underpinning innovative feature of new ECEC training build

A Victoria Park early childhood education and care (ECEC) service and training centre will feature a ‘living façade’ with animals cut out of vines and will support the learning of 80 children and 40 ECEC students each day. 

The complex has been recommended for approval by the Town of Victoria Park based on plans submitted by Taylor Burrell Barnett for the complex on Albany Highway in East Victoria Park, Western Australia. 

To make way for the complex, existing buildings on site will be demolished and replaced with a “unique” ECEC service with “irrigated vines” growing on the outside of the building which will face Albany Highway.

The complex will also include a 571 sqm outdoor play area, and Taylor Burrell Barnett senior associate Trent Will said co-locating the training centre with an ECEC service had a range of benefits, including more chances for students to gain practical experience.
