Literacy is an important aspect of communication, which is vital for successful learning across the curriculum. The Early Years Learning Framework describes literacy as the capacity, confidence and disposition to use language in all its forms (p41). This session will help you to understand how to integrate literacy activities into your program, and how to support emerging literacy skills in children.
Completing Literacy in the Early Years contributes 2.5 hours of PD addressing Standard 2 from the Australian professional Standards for Teachers – Professional Knowledge Standard 2: Know the content and how to teach it; 2.5: Literacy and Numeracy Strategies.
