While ongoing lockdowns in Victoria continue to make life difficult for many young families, Benalla’s Tomorrow Today Foundation is working hard to stay connected and help locals to manage the pressures of learning from home, working and caring for children by connecting the  community to the activities and people they love.

Speaking with local publication Shepparton News Tomorrow Today executive officer Rosie Koop said staff were constantly thinking of ways to keep children, young people and families connected with learning and each other.

“We have linked in with local preschools and schools to expand our reach within Benalla and district and are ready to respond to community needs,” Ms Koop said.

The popular Parents Early Education Partnership (PEEP) program is being offered online with Zoom conferencing, helping families with preschool aged children to join in with song and storytime sessions. Parents who would like one on one support can access staff by phone or online, and fun activities have been prepared for families with contactless pick up available.

The packs contain craft activities, story books and games, specifically chosen to increase children’s learning of important fine motor skills (such as cutting and pasting), counting, and rhyming.

Packs are available for collection from the green trolley at Tomorrow Today’s premises, 66 Nunn St, Benalla, 10 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday.
