New Director Derek McCormack appointed to raisingchildren.net.au

Derek McCormack has been named as the new Director of the Raising Children Network, a popular resource in the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector which supports families with expert advice, tips and knowledge to support in raising Australia’s children.
Mr McCormack is an advanced knowledge translation specialist with more than 16 years’ experience across science communication and public health initiatives in Australia and Ireland. Since 2006 he’s held a number of leadership roles at the Parenting Research Centre, a founding partner of raisingchildren.net.au
Now a world-leading digital parenting support initiative, Raising Children Network’s flagship platform receives more than 2 million visitors each month. It is a leading Australian public health resource focused on sharing evidence-informed information on parenting topics, from pregnancy all the way through to the teenage years.
Derek said he was thrilled to be taking on the new role which he will commence in late July.
“It’s been fantastic to be a part of the birth and evolution of raisingchildren.net.au over many years now, and to see it become such a comprehensive and trusted resource for parents and carers. I look forward to exploring new ways to help parents support their children’s healthy development, by sharing reliable information with them where and when they need it.”
The appointment of the new Director follows the departure of Professor Julie Green after nine years leading the project.
