Oberon Children’s Centre welcomes QLE grant for shade and sandpit renovations
Oberon Children’s Centre has received funding as part of the $11 million in Quality Learning Environments (QLE) grants provided by the New South Wales Government for preschool and long day care centres across the state.
QLE Grants support not-for-profit community and mobile preschools and not-for-profit long day care services with up to $15,000 to purchase resources and activities which improve physical or educational learning environments or to provide specialised educational programs for children to address identified educational needs.
Oberon Children’s Centre will use its $5,160 grant to replace worn out shade sails and give the service’s sandpit a makeover.
The successful grant was announced by local MP Paul Toole, who welcomed the funding after the challenges of 2020 which saw drought, fire and COVID-19 impacting the region.
“Early childhood education is incredibly important and these grants will help educators provide high quality learning environments for our children,” Mr Toole told local publication Oberon Review.
