Tehan pays tribute to challenges ECEC has faced during Early Learning Matters week
Early childhood educators should be proud of the way they have risen to the challenges posed by COVID-19 and a shifting policy landscape, while continuing to make a real difference in the lives of children and their families, Federal Minister for Education Dan Tehan has said, acknowledging the importance of early learning and those who work within in during Early Learning Matters week.
“COVID-19 has made us appreciate more than ever the important contribution that our early childhood educators and providers make to the lives of our children and Australian families,” Mr Tehan said.
“A special thank you” was owed to all educators and teachers who have “provided continuity of education and care to our children” throughout the pandemic, the Minister said.
“I understand this recent period has caused uncertainty and anxiety, but early childhood educators should be proud of the way they have risen to the challenge,” he added, encouraging parents, families and communities across Australia to recognise their early childhood educators this week.
