Port of Sale to have new purpose built ECEC learning space
Future early childhood education and care (ECEC) professionals learning in the Wellington Shire are “a step closer to having the state-of-the-art training facilities they deserve”, Victorian Minister for Training and Skills and Higher Education Gayle Tierney has said, revealing designs for the new TAFE Gippsland campus at the Port of Sale.
A video animation of the $25 million project, which will centralise most of TAFE Gippsland’s facilities and services in Sale showcases the purpose-built facilities which will cater to learners in a variety of courses, including health and social services, early childhood, carpentry, engineering and automotive trade.
The new TAFE campus has been designed by Victorian architects GHD Woodhead Architecture, with a builder expected to be appointed in coming months. It is anticipated that the facility will be completed in late 2021, with an opening scheduled for early in 2022.
“When completed, the new campus will provide more opportunities to learn new skills and gain qualifications that will lead to local jobs” Member for Eastern Victoria Jane Garrett said.
