Integrated early learning centre to support Wycheproof families
A new integrated early learning centre, offering three and four-year-old kindergarten programs, long day care, Maternal and Child Health Services and a supported playgroup will be constructed in the Victorian town of Wycheproof, Victorian Minister for Education James Merlino announced yesterday.
The Victorian Government will contribute $700,000 towards the Wycheproof Early Learning Centre, being built with the assistance of Buloke Shire Council, who will provide any additional funding requirements for the project.
Replacing the existing preschool centre, which is over 50 years old, the new centre will bring a range of early years services together under one roof, Mr Merlino said.
The new centre will be co-located at Wycheproof P-12 College and delivered by the Victorian School Building Authority, helping families by streamlining the drop off and collection process across families, and making the transition from kinder to school easier for local children.
“The Wycheproof community have been crying out for a modern early learning centre – we are helping turn this vision into a reality,” Mr Merlino said.
