“Coding Critters” wins top honours in preschool category at “Oscars” of the toy industry
A new range of educational resources that introduce preschool children to coding has been awarded the Toy of the Year (TOTY) Award in the preschool category at this year’s US Toy Association industry awards.
The resource known as “Coding Critters” consists of a set of interactive pets that respond to cues that make them move, dance and play that are triggered by the completion of a storybook coding challenge which comes as part of the playset.
There is also scope for children to design their own coding challenges that unlock additional responses from the critters that include but are not limited to feeding, petting and other care-based functions.
“We are proud to introduce coding to our future engineers, scientists and teachers at an early age, and we are thrilled to receive the Preschool TOTY Award for Coding Critters,” said Learning Resources CEO Rick Woldenberg. “This honour recognises our commitment to inspire a love of learning in all children with fun, imaginative toys.”
Learning Resources has a history creating innovative future facing educational resources having been involved in the educational resources sector for over 30 years and launched products like the award winning Botley the Coding Robot.
