Site announced for new public primary school and preschool for Thurgoona

The New South Wales Government has announced the site for the new public primary school and preschool for Thurgoona, outlining an agreement through which the Government will purchase land on Kerr Road in Wirlinga, with the new school and preschool being planned and delivered to accommodate future enrolments from 2027.
Planning for the school is being done in line with the Thurgoona-Wirlinga Precinct Structure Plan and will take into account significant future population growth and expanding infrastructure. The public preschool will be co-located with the primary school, as part of the NSW Government’s commitment to deliver 100 public preschools across NSW.
The NSW Department of Education is working closely with Albury City Council and the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI), with the community to be updated as planning continues.
The school will offer state-of-the-art classrooms and facilities designed to support students in their crucial early years of learning, NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Education and Early Learning Prue Car said, serving a community undergoing significant growth and change.
“This is an important step forward in meeting the long-term educational needs of this growing community, and I look forward to seeing this project come to life.”
Community members can learn more about the project at a drop-in information session at Thurgoona Public School Hall on Tuesday 25 March from 3.30-7pm.
