Massive milestone for Plympton early childhood educator Nicolle Wood

Nicolle Wood is starting 2025 off strongly, celebrating a significant milestone: 30 years of working in the same early childhood setting.
Ms Wood works at Mooringe World of Learning in Plympton, South Australia, and is affectionately known as ‘Nikki’ by the children she cares for.
During her time at the G8 Education service she has taught more than 1,000 children, and said that watching children grow and develop is a highlight of her time in the sector.
“I truly love my job and feel so grateful to have taught so many children over the past 30 years,” she said.
“Thirty years may sound like a long time, but it really has gone so fast, it’s been really nice connecting with families and I have been lucky enough to work with some of my family members at the centre as well as have some of my family members attend the centre.”
For World of Learning Mooringe Centre Manager Sue Francis having such a solid and experienced educator in her team is a true asset.
She describes Nikki as being very passionate, dedicated to her job, and devoted to the children she educates and cares for.
“She really gets to know each child, what their strengths are and has always recognised that no two children are the same and that they each will experience their own learning journey,” Ms Francis explained.
“Nikki goes above and beyond every day and I feel really lucky to have worked with her for almost three decades.”
“I have witnessed the magic in the room when she interacts with our children each day in the centre – she has a real connection with each of them and brings out the best in them.”
Families and individuals who have experienced Nikki’s care and guidance over the years are invited to share their memories with the centre via email. These will be compiled into a special keepsake for Nikki to commemorate the milestone. Please forward these to [email protected]
The Sector extends its congratulations to Ms Wood on this significant milestone in her career.
