Good Shepherd Plumpton takes shape thanks to prefabricated elements
Young learners will soon have an exciting new space to grow and develop as Good Shepherd Early Learning Plumpton takes shape thanks to innovations in prefabricated buildings.
The first of the prefabricated elements which will make up the preschool were recently lifted into position on the site via crane, amazing and delighting students at the neighbouring Good Shepherd Primary school.
Installed over three days, after having been carefully divided into modules, packed and braced for transportation to the site, the preschool is now one step closer to providing a much anticipated new early learning centre for the school community.
Good Shepherd Early Learning Plumpton’s director Mrs Jade Hunn said the new early learning centre will provide “a world of discovery” through play-based learning for children aged between two and five years.
“I’m thrilled to share the exciting news about this new centre for Plumpton,” she said.
“The centre will be backed by a fantastic early learning program and parental support to nurture children in a modern, faith-filled environment.”
As a bonus, the location of the service, adjacent to the school, will support “a seamless transition to primary school from their early years,” she added.
The service is scheduled to open early in 2025, and is the first preschool to be built by the Diocese of Parramatta’s Community Ventures agency, which already operates six Ambrose preschools and 55 out-of-school-hours care services in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
“It is so exciting to see the building come to life, and we can’t wait to be welcoming our families early next year,” Community Ventures chief executive officer Anthony Goonan said.
The preschool will accommodate 100 children aged two to five across four learning rooms. With an aim to support working families, it will operate extended hours from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
