Service approval was granted in 2012. The service was first assessed and rated in 2018, and was given a rating of Meeting the National Quality Standard.
During a second assessment and rating visit, in August 2023, the service was rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standard.

The preschool sees children as active participants in their own learning and recognises this happens best in an environment that provides enjoyable and engaging experiences.
Service programs are enriched by a number of incursions and excursions, music, drama, library book borrowing, and a challenging and interesting outdoor program.
Deepdene Preschool's learning philosophy is both child-centred and play-based, with educators believing that play is crucial to the development of children.
