Harmony Early Education founders step into leadership as CEO resigns
Harmony Early Education founders Chris and Gabrielle Giufre will step back into daily operations as joint Managing Directors following the resignation of former CEO Laurie Begni effective 16 August 2024.
The leadership movement was described by Harmony as “a strategic move to maintain the organisation’s vision and continued excellence,” with the Giufre’s saying they “fully support Mr Begni’s decision” and wish him the very best in his future endeavours.
“We are grateful for Laurie’s leadership,” Ms Giufre said, adding that he “has been instrumental in positioning Harmony for future growth” as well as overseeing the successful establishment of several new centres.
“This leadership change, coupled with our ambitious growth plans for the next four years, has driven our decision to return to operational leadership roles as joint Managing Directors,” she continued.
“Handover plans are in place to ensure a seamless transition and we are confident these changes will enhance our ability to deliver on our future goals and no doubt provide an opportunity to strengthen our relationship with families and suppliers.”
In addition to the return of the founders to the Managing Director position, Harmony has appointed Alison Hill as Chief Financial Officer, a position she will commence in a full time capacity from October.
“Harmony has always been a strong family-owned and family-focused business, and we are excited to guide the organisation through this next growth period,” Ms Giufre said.
Harmony Early Education currently operates 18 early learning centres across Southeast Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
