Edge Early Learning Group to expand footprint in Queensland with new builds in Cairns
Edge Early Learning Group, an early childhood education and care (ECEC) provider with services in south east Queensland, South Australia and the ACT will expand its reach in Queensland with two new purpose-built centres to be constructed by the end of the year in Edmonton and Gordonvale.
Combined the new services will offer an additional 270 places (approx.) to the Cairns region, which Edge believes will help offset the growing demand for quality care and education within the Cairns region.
“Since 2017 we have built a reputable educational practice in the early learning space,” Edge Early Learning CEO Annie Bryce said.
The first Edge Early Learning centre in the Cairns region opened in July 2023 at Woree and caters for up to 75 children per day. It is located on Charlotte Close, across the road from the Southside Shopping Village and only three minutes from local schools, Saint Mary’s and Woree State School.
The Woree centre has five classrooms and caters for children from six weeks to school age, with outdoor play areas equipped with sandpits, water play areas, swings, a pergola, veggie gardens, and quiet areas to relax.
Based on strong demand for care at Woree, Edge has committed to additional services in the region to further support local families.
The Edmonton centre is already in development, and is on track to open mid-year, while Gordonvale is likely to come on line later in 2024.
All three services are within a 20 minute radius of one another, which should allow for some flexibility with enrolments as well as staffing coverage. The two new services will create 65 job opportunities for locals.
Recruitment is underway to staff the new services. Readers who wish to learn more about the opportunities available with Edge Early Learning are encouraged to visit the careers page, here.
