ECEC Provider in Focus: Nambucca Valley Family Day Care

Nambucca Valley Family Day Care (NVFDC) supports 15 educators across both the Nambucca Valley and Bellingen local government areas of New South Wales, as part of the broader suite of offerings from Lifetime Connect, which includes aging and wellness services, disability services and other community supports. 

 

In the early childhood education and care (ECEC) space NVFDC also offers outside school hours care (OSHC) and playgroup services. 

 

What is the history of NVFDC?

 

Lifetime Connect Limited is a locally owned not for profit organisation offering professional, quality care in Coffs Harbour, Bellingen and Nambucca Local Governments areas. 

 

Originally, when the organisation was established in 1972, Lifetime Connect’s services focused on older Australians. The range of services has since diversified to cover the lifespan from early childhood through to aged care. 

 

In the family day care (FDC) space educators provide care for children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age.

 

What is the NVFDC vision and approach to learning? 

 

The NVFDC vision is to promote excellence in home-based education and childcare (sic.)

 

NVFDC believes that each child has the right to quality education and care which fulfils their individual needs and promotes positive outcomes for every child every day.

 

When it comes to learning, NVFDC celebrates and acknowledges each child’s uniqueness and potential. 

 

Each child’s contribution to the group is recognised and children are encouraged to think for themselves, make decisions, work towards their own solutions, express their own ideas and feelings at their own pace.
