Andrew Cameron named as new CEO of Early Learning Association Australia

The Early Learning Association of Australia (ELAA) has named Andrew Cameron as its new CEO. 

 

Mr Cameron is a highly effective leader who operates from a strategic and values based approach to driving sector innovation and delivering major organisational change initiatives. 

 

He has a passion for creating and delivering a vision for an organisation, supported by a positive and energetic people-oriented approach, and routinely moves organisations beyond the existing paradigm to take an industry-leading role.

 

Mr Cameron has a strong track record of delivering results in public sector, human services and scaling organisations; driving performance improvement and delivering commercial outcomes; and, has significant governance experience via a variety of corporate, charitable and professional association boards and committees.

 

Prior to accepting the CEO role with ELAA, Mr Cameron was the CEO of work-integrated social enterprise Helm which supports 15-24 year olds.

 

Since commencing with ELAA, Mr Cameron has been learning more about ELAA’s operations, advocacy agenda, and key projects such as the VECTEA 2024 member onboarding and Skilling an Adaptable Early Childhood Education and Care Workforce (SAEW) project. 

 

“I can already see the determined effort ELAA’s team makes on a daily basis to add value to and on behalf of ELAA’s members,” he said. 

 

“As ELAA’s incoming CEO, one of my primary objectives will be to continue building ELAA’s capacity as a valued provider of services and support to the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector, and to engender a strong and confident voice on behalf of our members. That means celebrating the successes of our members and the wider sector, building strong partnerships, and advocating for change when and where it is needed.”

 

“After a career inside government and having spent the past decade leading not-for-profit associations and service delivery organisations, I’m grateful for the opportunity to help progress ELAA’s important work in empowering our members to deliver excellence and equity in ECEC. I’m greatly looking forward to connecting with and learning from our members over the coming weeks and months.”
