Camp Australia to present CA WAY Programming Framework on global stage

April 19, 2023

Outside school hours care (OSHC) provider Camp Australia has been selected to present its  proprietary approach to programming in the OSHC space at the international BOOST Conference, which will be held from 25-28 April 2023 in Palm Springs, California.

The aim of the BOOST conference is to showcase global best practices in the OSHC sector, and representatives from Camp Australia will present on the programming approach known as The CA WAY

The CA WAY promotes educator and child collaboration in learning in a co-created cycle which is intended to promote co-ownership and mutual engagement between educators, children and schools. It is done in a way that brings the school community’s values and learning philosophy to life.

Key elements of the CA WAY programming cycle include:

  • Collecting data from the child, school, community and observations
  • Analysing the information collected to consider what experience can be planned
  • Writing it down and developing the plan effectively
  • Activating the plan, bringing the program to life and guiding children in their learning journey
  • Reflection on the plan and assessing what worked and what could be improved.

Supported by the Framework for School Aged Care and the National Quality Standard, the CA WAY is billed as “a consistent, simplified approach for delivering high-quality programming,” which offers an ongoing, continuous, and sustainable programming cycle that has evolved to include a digital programming platform for educators in the Camp Australia network.

Camp Australia’s Head of Service Delivery Barbara Elvin will deliver the presentation, along with Camp Australia’s Head of Compliance Chelsea Daly.

Ms Elvin is a seasoned education professional with experience as a classroom teacher, administrator, and principal. She is committed to creating highly aspirational environments for teams with a focus “on the possibilities, not the probabilities”.

Ms Daly has over 25 years experience in the sector, and has been with Camp Australia for more than 15 years. She has a background in coordination, management, quality, and compliance, and will lead the presentation with a focus on ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement.
