National Centre for Action on Child Sexual Abuse welcomes new CEO
Dr Leanne Beagley has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Action on Child Sexual Abuse, tasked with overseeing the work of the Centre and providing leadership on integrated responses to child sexual abuse and its impacts across the country.
With an extensive clinical background Dr Beagley has leadership and legal qualifications and experience and has held executive roles within the Department of Health, Victoria, the Western Victoria Primary Health Network and most recently, as CEO of Mental Health Australia and has made significant contributions to policy change through her leadership and advocacy.
“I am delighted to have been appointed to this important national role,” Dr Beagley said.
“There is nothing more crucial than a safe future for Australia’s children. The opportunity to hear child and adult victims and survivors and based on their experience and advice engage with service providers and partners, researchers, advocates and governments is what I am most looking forward to.
“What a great privilege to join this team and have the opportunity to contribute to real change.”
The National Centre for Action on Child Sexual Abuse (the National Centre) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation established to increase understanding of child sexual abuse, promote effective ways for protecting children, guide best practice responses and pathways to healing for survivors, and reduce the harm it causes.
