Mercy Care Educator Olivia secures RTO award for outstanding achievement

Early childhood education Olivia Hegney was recently recognised for outstanding achievement in her Diploma of Early Childhood Education studies by registered training organisation CTAS.
Ms Hegney, who is working towards completing her Diploma while holding a position with Mercy Care Seville Grove, said she has always wanted to work with children, and that the award has encouraged her to continue to pursue her dream.
“It is a very rewarding job where you get to see children from a range of different ages and developmental stages,” she said.“I enjoy being able to have conversations with the children and watch as their little minds work trying to find an answer.”
Ms Hegnet recently received the CTAS Outstanding Achiever for Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care Award, with Mercy Care Area Manager Lisa Houlihan saying everyone at the centre was delighted with her achievement.
“We are extremely proud of Olivia’s hard work, growth and success over the last four years. Olivia should be so proud of herself – out of 900 nominees she took first place.”
Ms Hegney plans to complete her Bachelor in Early Childhood Education, and looks forward to working in both the ECEC and school sector.
“I would also like to see how far I could go and hopefully to one day be able to manage a centre of my own,” she said.
