Early childhood education and care (ECEC) provider Explorers Early Learning has announced the appointment of Chris Lugg as the company’s new Chief Operations Officer, effective 21 December.

Mr Lugg was most recently a General Manager with Guardian Childcare & Education, and has held positions in the broader education sector with Education Works Australia, Catalyst Education, and Salmat.

Commenting on his appointment Mr Lugg said he was “thrilled to have the opportunity to lead a passionate team, and of course to continue to work in such an important sector.”

“Explorers is an exceptional provider that I have admired for a long time. They are entering a very exciting growth phase and what impresses me most is the company’s focus on maintaining the highest standards of quality across Explorers centres as the business expands. That’s something I want to be part of and contribute to.”

Explorers Early Learning Founder and CEO Lynda Salvo said the provider was delighted to have Mr Lugg joining the senior leadership team, noting that he brings “a wealth of experience in the Early Childhood Sector and is deeply passionate about the value of early childhood education.”

Explorers Early Learning is a family owned business which operates 16 services across Melbourne, with another four services set to open in early 2023. For more information about the provider please see here
