Contractors sought for Tasmania’s Kingborough Child and Family Learning Centre

A request for tender has been issued to engage a contractor to build the new Kingborough Child and Family Learning Centre (CFLC), which will be co-located on the Kingston Primary School site.
The new service is part of a $28 million commitment by the Tasmanian Government to deliver six new CFLCs around the State, serving as a single point of contact for children and families from pregnancy to children of five years of age, connecting them with coordinated, universal, targeted and specialist services, and access programs.
Construction will commence on the Kingborough CFLC in early 2023 and, subject to the outcome of the tender process, will be completed in late 2023.
Extensive community consultation has been undertaken for all the new CFLCs to help determine the facilities and services each will provide for their local communities, with works progressing on the new East Tamar, Waratah Wynyard and West Ulverstone CFLCs, and a tender to engage a contractor to deliver the new Glenorchy CFLC to be released in the coming weeks.
Construction of the new Sorell CFLC will begin in 2023 as part of the redevelopment of Sorell School.
