ECEC encouraged to sign on to National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence
Early childhood education and care (ECEC) services around Australia are being encouraged to join initiatives around the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence.
The National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA) will take place on Friday 18 March 2022 with the theme kindness culture – it starts with you. The NDA is Australia’s key bullying prevention initiative and aims to connect schools and communities to find workable solutions to prevent bullying.
The new animation series for the 2022 NDA, Be kind online encourages students to block content, report it and support each other if they see or experience cyberbullying.
While the focus is on schools, ECEC settings have been encouraged to register as supporters, in acknowledgement of the fact that individuals, early childhood providers, community and sporting organisations play an important role in working with young people to find bullying prevention solutions.
The NDA is an opportunity to create a shared understanding of what is bullying, outline your bullying prevention policies, and show support to students who may be experiencing bullying.
Whether you’re a parent, teacher, student, or member of the broader community, everyone has a role to play for bullying prevention.
When services register as a Supporter they will receive the Supporter toolkit with everything required to promote the NDA.
