Burgess Rawson, Australia’s largest privately-owned commercial property agency that specialises in early childhood education and care, has appointed two senior agents in New South Wales to support the ongoing delivery of the Group’s unique portfolio auctions in the state.

Yosh Mendis will commence as Head of Agency NSW and will have more of an ECEC focus, working closely with partners Rhys Parker and Kieran Bourke to build the business and expand into new sectors and markets, whilst Geoff Sinclair will join the team as Director, with a focus on the convenience retail, medical and industrial investment sectors.

Burgess Rawson Managing Director Ingrid Filmer said the appointments formed part of the company’s strategic growth plan.

“We are delighted to welcome Yosh and Geoff to the fold,” said Ms Filmer. “Their experience and expertise are remarkable. We have big plans for the Sydney business and have confidence that we can deliver with this powerhouse team in place.”

Yosh Mendis has been involved in the property industry handling commercial property transactions for private and institutional clients for over eight years and was most recently with Cushman and Wakefield. During this time he became a specialist in the ECEC space amongst others.

Boasting some of Sydney’s most notable highlight childcare sales Yosh had some exceptional results in 2021 including the sale of Orchard Early Learning in St Ives which sold for $15,900,000 and is now recognised as the highest value paid for a Sydney childcare investment bought under the hammer at auction.

His enthusiasm for the childcare investment sector stems from his belief and understanding of the investment fundamentals within this market segment.

With a changing economic landscape, increases in cost of living pushing both parents into the workforce and continued government support through subsidies and incentives supporting the sector Yosh believes the space is well positioned to continue to grow for the long term.

Geoff Sinclair spent 6.5 years as a pivotal member of the Cushman and Wakefield National Sales Investment team, where he was involved in the sale of approximately $200 million worth of commercial property in 2021.

He also brings international experience, having worked in Canada for Colliers International with a strong focus on the industrial sector.

Mr Mendis and Mr Sinclair will officially commence with Burgess Rawson on 1 March.
