Macquarie University to develop new Faculty Research Centre for high-quality ECEC

The Faculty of Arts at Sydney’s Macquarie University has approved the establishment of the Centre for Early Childhood Education Research under the leadership of centre directors and prominent early childhood education and care (ECEC) researchers Professor Sheila Degotardi, Associate Professor Sandie Wong and Associate Professor Fay Hadley.
The centre will conduct studies to support high-quality early childhood pedagogies and build a knowledgeable and resilient workforce and will house 14 early childhood education researchers from the School of Education at Macquarie University.
“The early childhood sector has the potential to significantly contribute to the lives and learning of young children and their families,” Professor Degotardi said.
“Our centre aims to research collaboratively with early childhood organisations to find new ways to build the capacity and resilience of the early childhood workforce and to enrich the learning experiences of children aged from birth to five years”.
