McLeans Road Kindergarten gets ready for its next generation of learners

The newly redeveloped McLeans Road Kindergarten in the Victorian suburb of Bundoora is gearing up to welcome local children in January 2022.
The former single-room kindergarten has been replaced with a state-of-the-art two-room facility, providing interactive and engaging learning opportunities for its young students, alongside a modern outdoor play area.
Kids First General Manager of Early Years, Di Earp, is looking forward to welcoming families to the redeveloped McLeans Road Kindergarten in the new year, describing the build as “a wonderful addition to the area.”
The kindergarten backs on to a local playground, expanding the opportunities for children to learn and play beyond the confines of the service. The teachers, Ms Earp said, are community focused, and will provide innovative programs which build on the children’s interests.
“The kindergarten backs onto the playground, so it’ll be a great opportunity for excursions.
Redevelopment of the service supports the growing demand for kindergarten in the area, which has been further driven by the advent of three year old kindergarten across the City of Whittlesea, and is being delivered jointly by the Council and the Victorian Government.
Construction of McLeans Road Kindergarten is temporarily on hold due to the Victorian Government’s construction lockdown, however the Council anticipates that the finishing touches on the building will resume once the construction industry can return to work.
