ECH partners with SA Montessori on intergenerational aspect of new vertical village
Adelaide not-for-profit aged care provider, ECH, will partner with education provider SA Montessori to offer an intergenerational program at its new vertical retirement village which is scheduled to open later this year.
ECH’s Encore Apartments are located in Modbury, 16 km northeast of the Adelaide CBD, and will host Echoes Montessori Early Learning Centre when it opens in January 2022.
“We have been working with SA Montessori for over three years and are thrilled to have the organisation as part of our new vertical village community, giving residents and children the opportunity to interact and develop genuine friendships,” ECH CEO Dr David Panter shared, speaking with The Weekly Source.
“The benefits of intergenerational activities are vast, including learning and practising new skills, gaining an improved sense of purpose, sharing ideas and strengthening social skills, in turn, enhancing wellbeing,” he added.
Interest in the vertical village has been strong, with nearly 50 per cent of the 77 two bedroom apartments already under contract.
