Attention Victorian providers – Refurbishment and minor works applications close soon
Applications for the $30 million Refurbishment and Minor Works program, designed by the Victorian Government to improve the learning environments, condition or character of Victoria’s kindergartens, will close at the end of this month, with eligible services encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
The program is a short-term initiative, which aims to stimulate the local economy by funding projects that support local jobs and communities, and forms part of the Victorian Government investment in early childhood infrastructure – the largest in the State’s history.
New builds, and expansions of existing facilities are catered to through the Building Blocks grant program, with the refurbishment initiative providing funding towards projects that “enhance the condition of existing kindergartens, ensuring they are modern, safe and fit-for-purpose.”
Eligible organisations can apply for grants up to $50,000 for minor projects or $500,000 for major projects, with the funds to be used for minor upgrades or refurbishments such as playground upgrades, roof repairs, landscaping, installing accessible ramps, fencing, kitchen or staffroom upgrades.
Applications for the Refurbishment and Minor Works Program opened 14 December 2020 and will close on 28 February 2021 at 11:59 p.m.
Any questions or discussions of application progress are best directed to the VSBA Early Childhood Grants Team via email to [email protected]
