Jennifer Coelho applauded for her genuine love of the children in her care
Kindy Korner Children’s Services Educator Jennifer Coelho has been recognised by her manager, Louisa Beaver, for the genuine love she has for the children in her care, via a nomination for the 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards NSW/ACT in the NSW Department of Education Early Childhood Educator Award category.
Ms Coelho was described as an “exceptional educator” who demonstrates the passion she has for her work in the Unanderra service on a daily basis.
While category winners will not be announced until 30 April, Ms Beaver said that as far as parents and children are concerned, Ms Coelho is a clear winner.
Speaking with local publication The Illawarra Mercury, Ms Coelho said she knew early childhood education and care was the role for her from an early age.
Currently working with the three to five years group, she fills her days by preparing them with emotional and social skills needed to cope with the transition to “big school” as well as supporting their growth and development with individualised programs.
Ms Beaver, in her nomination, describes Ms Coelho as “an inspiration to her colleagues, a beacon of professionalism and integrity; an individual who shines the torch for high quality programs, respectful and honest relationships with families and a mentor to others”.
