Illawara based not for profit early childhood education and care provider Big Fat Smile have confirmed the appointment of Justine Uluibau as their new General Manager Operations.

Ms Uluibau will be joining Big Fat Smile after a 17 year career at Campbelltown City Council where she held a number of different roles including Manager Children’ Services and Coordinator Children’s Services as well as more recently a senior executive role as Executive Manager Community Connections.

During her time with the Council, Ms Uluibau’s team were the first in NSW to achieve the Excellent rating from ACECQA, an achievement all the more significant as it was the first local government service to achieve the Excellent rating and only the fifth in Australia at that time to have been awarded the grade.

Prior to joining Campbelltown City Council Ms Uluibau was a state manager at Peppercorn Management Ltd.

Commenting on Ms Uluibau’s appointment Big Fat Smile CEO Jenni Hutchins said “We are so excited to have Justine join us. She has a passion for leading with integrity and a long standing commitment to the Early Learning, Term Only Preschool and Out of School Hours Care sectors.  Justine has also led and managed inclusion and community programs too. She is the perfect cultural and knowledge fit.”

“I know Justine will bring exceptional value to Big Fat Smile in terms of expertise, knowledge and alignment to our values and we look forward very much to her joining the team.”

Ms Uluiba will assume responsibility for the performance of the Big Fat Smile network of 41 services, all community programs and the Group’s equity access arm Include Me

Commenting on her appointment Ms Uluibau said “I am delighted to be joining Big Fat Smile- a quality not for profit organisation that values children, families, its team and is also a strong advocate for the early learning and care sector.”

“This role brings two of my passions together – education and care and leadership and I can’t wait to start, meet people and understand how I can contribute to Big Fat Smile’s work.”
