Franklin Early Childhood School gets name change as part of major expansion works
The Franklin Early Childhood School, located in the Australian Capital Territory, will be renamed Franklin School to reflect a major expansion which will see the school expand its capacity to 600 students from Kindergarten to Year Six, as well as its existing early childhood offering.
Expected to be complete in time for the 2022 school year, the $29.5 million permanent expansion is being undertaken in response to the needs of a growing community. Anglicare has been chosen as the provider for the early childhood and outside school hours care components of the site after consultation with the school community, broader community, staff and parents.
The school community will be asked to design a new school logo and students will be asked to think about the school values and how they will be extended into the expanded school.
Franklin School’s expansion is part of a broader $52.2 million commitment by the ACT Government to expand schools across the Territory to meet rising demand, with a focus on high-growth areas such as Gungahlin.
