Storypark announces exciting investment partnership with Potentia
Purpose-led early childhood education software platform Storypark has announced a new partnership with Australasian investment firm Potentia which will support future innovation as Storypark continues to support quality outcomes for children, families, teams, and organisations.
In making the announcement Storypark CEO Jamie MacDonald (pictured) was clear that Potentia is investing “in our current strategy, plan and team. Storypark as a company is not changing.”
“Children, families, educators and customers remain our top priority,” he said.
“Instead, Storypark customers can expect even more reliable, child-centric, quality-focused products, services and support, plus some exciting new innovations in the near future.”
The investment partnership, which is backed by a number of superannuation and insurance funds in Australia and New Zealand as its investors, will allow Storypark to not only support future innovation, but also provide an opportunity to acquire organisations and grow into new markets.
“The technology space is rapidly evolving, and so are we,” Mr MacDonald said.
“It was critical we found the right partner for us. A partner who believed in our values, mission and purpose.”
In making the decision to move forward in seeking an investment partner, the team at Storypark drew deeply on their founding story, with the business built on the experiences of Jamie’s mother, who works as an early childhood educator.
“Mum wanted something to connect her centre with families and the wider community, so asked me to build a website. That’s where Storypark was born,” he explained.
“Storypark was founded with a mission to help every child fulfil their unique potential, by connecting and empowering the community around them. We’re excited to partner with Potentia to accelerate the next phase of our growth to support more children and their families in the crucial early stage of a child’s life, leveraging Potentia’s experience in helping technology businesses take the next step.”
Storypark is currently used by more than 11,000 centres around the world to document learning and strengthen family engagement, and since 2011 over 65 million learning stories have been created by educators to engage families with their children’s learning.
