Recruitment open day at Early Learning Victoria Nyernilang Lar in Eaglehawk North

Early Learning Victoria (ELV), is inviting educators and early childhood professionals to its Recruitment Open Day at Early Learning Victoria Nyernilang Lar in Eaglehawk North on Saturday 28 February. ELV operates government-run early learning and childcare centres across Victoria and is looking to grow its team as it expands services in communities statewide. 

The open day, running from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at 5 Darcy Street, Sailors Gully (co-located with Eaglehawk North Primary School), will provide prospective applicants with an informative and welcoming environment to learn more about ELV, its philosophy and its career opportunities. 

ELV’s commitment to high-quality early childhood education and care is underpinned by a child-centred approach that emphasises learning through play and strong connections with local communities. The Recruitment Open Day is an opportunity for attendees to tour the Nyernilang Lar centre, which offers long day care and integrated kindergarten programs for approximately 102 children each day – and to engage directly with educators and leaders about what it’s like to work within a government-run early learning service. 

During the event, visitors will be able to explore purpose-designed learning environments, hear from experienced team members and ask questions about the roles available across ELV’s network of 18 centres currently open, as well as what’s to come as ELV continues to extend its services. 

Attendees will also be able to discuss ELV’s professional support structures, expectations for educators under the National Quality Framework, and how teams collaborate to deliver inclusive, high-quality programs that respond to local family and community needs. This conversation is often instrumental for educators seeking to understand employment conditions, opportunities for ongoing professional learning, and how ELV’s workforce strategy supports retention and career progression.
