Niño Early Learning Adventures (ELA) Elsternwick celebrates exceeding rating
Niño Early Learning Adventures (ELA) Elsternwick has been rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standard under the National Quality Framework during a recent assessment process, the first for the service.
“To receive this rating on Niño ELA Elsternwick’s first rating and assessment is a true testament to the quality standards of our services and our philosophy,” said Company Manager Melinda Ackerman.
The service was highlighted as demonstrating strong and embedded approaches to the educational programs and the interactions with children, aligning with its philosophy and the principles and practices of its approved learning frameworks.
“Our service’s philosophy is embedded in our daily practice, with educators’ reflective practice resulting in responsive programs and practice that caters to each child’s needs and interests and learning environments contributing to the implementation of intentional and spontaneous learning experiences”, said Centre Director Laura Scidone.
Authorised officers involved in the assessment found that the children were experiencing a sense of security in their environments and were confidently exploring spaces and seeking out the company of educators and other children. Purposeful play spaces were provided for all age groups to explore, and educators facilitated their engagement through respectful participation in children’s play.
The exceeding rating was further supported by the collaborative practice of educators who demonstrated respect for the contributions and strengths of children, families and staff.
“Niño ELA Elsternwick has a strong focus on developing respectful, open relationships with families, allowing a deepened understanding of the contexts of families and the values, views and beliefs that they hold”, Ms Scidone added.
In particular the service has a focus on constantly seeking ways in which families could contribute to their program and the expertise of families in the shared decision making of the service, in line with its philosophy which states a commitment to encouraging children to “be brave, creative, resilient and kind”.
“We are very proud of our Niño ELA Elsternwick service and their commitment and contribution in providing a positive and quality early learning experience for our children, families and the local community,” Ms Ackerman said in closing.
