Junior Landcare grants are back to support ECEC with sustainability

The popular Woolworths and Landcare Australia Woolworths Junior Landcare Grants are back for 2023, offering early childhood education and care (ECEC) services an opportunity to access one of 1,000 grants of up to $1,000 each to drive environmental projects.
Open to primary schools and early learning services across the country, the grants support services to either set up a new environmental project or enhance an existing one. Previous grant recipients are welcome to apply again if they have submitted a final report for their previous grant project.
Projects with a ‘hands on’ focus that get children involved in the natural environment are highly favored, with services invited to consider projects that connect children with sustainable food production, improving waste management practices and recycling, enhancing native habitats and deepening connections to First Nations perspectives.
The Top 10 Woolworths Junior Landcare Grant Project Ideas has been created to inspire services who are struggling to know where to start. Project ideas shown in the guide link out to Junior Landcare Learning Centre education resources, which include step-by-step instructions, links to curriculums and frameworks and educator notes.
For more inspiration, view the interactive map which shows photographs and descriptions of projects which have been successful at other sites.
Applications for the grants are open now, and close on 17 March. Apply here, or email [email protected] for more information.
