$20 million for childhood mental health research as MRFF extends second grant program
Up to $20 million in new funding is being made available under the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) as part of the 2025 Childhood Mental Health Research grant opportunity to bring evidence-based preventions and treatments into practice.
The new funding will focus on research that improves the mental health of First Nations children. Research will be led by First Nations researchers and include the meaningful involvement of First Nations communities.
In addition, the organisation undertaking the majority of the research is based in any area according to the Modified Monash Model locator.
Applicants to this grant opportunity must propose research that addresses one of the three Topics of research. This grant opportunity is being administered by NHMRC on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.
The grant activity timeline is within five years from execution of the grant schedule with estimated individual grant values up to $5 million.
