New capability framework supports sector to embed Child Safe Standards
PeakCare Queensland has launched a new resource designed to strengthen the capacity of the child and family sector to deliver safe, accountable, and responsive services for children and young people.
Together for Safeguarding: A workforce capability framework for the child and family sector provides clear guidance for building and embedding the capabilities needed to uphold the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and the Child Safe Standards across all parts of an organisation.
The framework supports services to reflect on current practice, identify workforce strengths and gaps, and embed a culture of safeguarding through practical, role-specific guidance.
The project was made possible through Round 1 of the Queensland Family and Child Commission’s (QFCC) and reflects collaboration across government, advisory and service organisations.
PeakCare acknowledged the significant contribution of sector partners and stakeholders in the development process.
The framework was developed in partnership with Social Vantage Advisory, whose knowledge of sector dynamics and safeguarding practice helped ensure the framework was both evidence-informed and implementation-focused.
The Together for Safeguarding framework is now available for download via PeakCare’s website here.
