Body Safety Week: Free webinar marks launch of new child protection program

Explorers Early Learning is taking a bold step forward in its commitment to child safety, family engagement and community leadership with the introduction of its new Body Safety Program. Designed to empower children with the skills and confidence to protect themselves, the program will launch during the organisation’s inaugural Body Safety Week, commencing 6 October 2025.
This ground-breaking initiative is designed to empower children with age-appropriate knowledge about body autonomy, consent, and the confidence to speak up in unsafe situations.
As part of the launch, Explorers will host a free live webinar on 7 October, featuring renowned child safety advocate and former police officer Kristi McVee, alongside Lynda Salvo, CEO and Founder of Explorers Early Learning.
“This is an important step forward in empowering children to speak up and feel safe,” said Ms Salvo. “Body safety isn’t just something that happens in childcare, it’s part of everyday life.”
In July, Ms Salvo undertook a cross-state tour, visiting nearly every Explorers centre to lead family information sessions. These face-to-face conversations created opportunities for families to ask questions, build trust, and strengthen understanding of how Explorers prioritise child wellbeing and safety.
“At a time of heightened concern, I wanted families to know who is ultimately responsible for their children and to see firsthand our commitment to their safety,” Ms Salvo said. “It was a chance to listen, to share our vision, and to reassure families that child protection is at the heart of what we do.”
The Body Safety Program reflects Explorers Early Learning’s unwavering commitment to proactive child protection, transparent communication, and deep partnerships with families. Through education, engagement, and empowerment, the program ensures every child has the knowledge and support they need to thrive safely and confidently.
