Effective governance, workforce planning, and child safety are foundational to trust and quality in early childhood services. ELAA’s collection of free, high‑quality resources, continuously maintained and developed with expert input, provides tangible support to Approved Providers, Committees of Management, educational leaders, and sector managers.

ELAA offers a suite of short, focused governance videos to guide Approved Providers and committee members. Topics include governance principles, committee roles, meeting management, recruitment, succession planning, and wellbeing in leadership. These resources complement ELAA’s live training and for onboarding new employees, board members or refreshing governance practice.

ELAA’s Child Safe Reporting Guide outlines obligations, procedural steps, and reporting pathways to support staff in making informed decisions with confidence. It is an essential tool for reinforcing duty-of-care responsibilities and child safe standards.

Several resources assist in building and sustaining effective governance:

  • Committee of Management Recruitment Videos – Short, engaging stories designed to motivate and guide parents toward active committee participation.
  • Workforce Planning Guide for Committees of Management – A practical guide to planning staffing aligned with service quality and sustainability.

The EM&D Resource defines a comprehensive process for managing staff performance, from orientation and probation to annual evaluations and professional development planning. Supported by tools, templates, and quick-reference guides, and aligns with National Quality Standard expectations, especially element 7.2.3.

Complementing EM&D, the MPRC Resource focuses on underperformance and misconduct. It outlines industrial relations obligations, processes for addressing concerns, and termination procedures, supported by practical templates.

ELAA’s free resources deliver:

  • Governance clarity, through video guidance and planning tools.
  • Staff confidence, via structured performance and reporting resources.
  • Strategic readiness, with manuals covering budgeting, expansion and policy.
  • Inclusion and safety, through tools for children with additional needs and risk navigation.

All resources are accessible through the Free Resources section on the ELAA website.
