QFCC child safeguarding grants: applications close 14 September 2025
The Queensland Family and Child Commission (QFCC) has opened applications for its Child Safeguarding Grants Program, designed to help organisations build their capability to comply with the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024.
Key dates
- Applications opened: 14 August 2025
- Applications close: Sunday, 14 September 2025 at 11:59 pm (AEST)
- Project completion targets:
- Category 1: by 1 June 2026 (ahead of the Reportable Conduct Scheme rollout)
- Category 2: by 31 March 2026
Grant categories
- Sector-specific capability and capacity building, supporting peak bodies and networks to uplift practices across their sector or region.
- Capability and capacity building investment, assisting existing safeguarding training or outreach providers to embed new legislative requirements into their programs.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants must:
- Be registered in Australia with an active ABN
- Have been operational in Queensland for at least 12 months
- Have a Queensland headquarters or location
- Primarily work in services or facilities for children
Funding available
Grants range from $10,000 up to $90,000 and can be used for:
- Project-specific salaries and on-costs
- Staff training linked to child safeguarding
- Development of resources, events or system tools
- Consultancy and engagement, including cultural advisors
- Youth leadership and volunteer capacity development
